On 22nd may 2012 (9th jestha 2069 B.S) Historic Motorcycle Ralley for kochila autonomous state. More than 2500 motorbikes and around 6000 peoples participated in the
historic motorcycle ralley organized by kochila ekta morcha demanding
jhapa, morang, sunsari districts as kochila autonomous state with self
desisive rights of koch community. The participants of all the vdcs and
municipalities in between mechi river to kankai river of jhapa districts
gathered in mechi bridge. Where they hosted the flag of kochila ekta
morcha by vice-codinator avay rajbanshi giving a short speech about
kochila moment and demands to be included in new constitution of nepal.
The motorcycle ralley started from mechi river along with the huge crowd
of motorbikes more than 1500 in number carrying two and three people in
each bike. The participants chanted slogan: join for kochila, do for
kochila, die for kochila. There were more participants joining the
ralley on the way and there were lines of endless bikes from mechi river
to itabhatta. The participants from morang districts started the
motorbike ralley from Rangeli accompanied by more than 700 motorbike
reached itahari via urlabari.The participant from sunsari started the
ralley after the morang participants reached itahari and handed over the
flag of kochila to them and finally the motorcycle ralley ended in
koshi river after hosting the flag in koshi bridge. Speaking in the
closing ceremony central member Thaknu Rajbanshi said the koch moment
will continue till the last breadth. He also condemned of supression of
peaceful ralley of kochila by government in jhapa and about tharu moment
also. In jhapa district by seeing the huge crows of motorbike and
chanting slogans the CDO of jhapa Narendra sharma ordered all the
security forces to stop the ralley due to which the nepal police force,
armed police force and nepal army stopped the ralley in surunga river.
The huge mass was ready to fight againest armed police force but
thinking of possible damage of property and loss of life which might
result due clash Avay rajbanshi was compelled to comand the mass to
about turn after two hours of debate with cdo,ssp, army chief and
frequent phone calls from purna singh rajbansi and other senior leaders
in central level. To preserve The right to demonstrate in street
peacefully and to protect the citizen is the duty and responsibility of
government but instead of giving protection the government have
supressed the peace moment by citing different reason which develops
fear and trauma in the members of moment that make the moment weak but
just opposite of their desire the incident has made the kochila andolan
more strong. The motorcycle ralley after returning from surunga was
heading toward chandragadi the headquater of jhapa district for closing
ceremony and disclosing future programes of andolan to mass as well as
to condemn for the supression but when the ralley reached garamani area
few bahun vegabonds attaked the participants of ralley with stick and
khukuris due to which four participants were injured and three
motorbikes were vendalized. The injured were pramod rajbanshi and dil
kumar rajbanshi from charali, biltu rajbanshi from chandragadi, suren
rajbanshi from birtamode. The discription of vandalized bike are: me 2

pressure groups meet with CDO have repoted that the bahuns involved in
the attack will be arrestted soon and will be taken legal punishment and
damage will be compansiated.
Jhapa, Morang and Sunsari Districts of Eastern Nepal must be merged to form Koch State. " its the demands of Indigenous peoples residing in the region.
