First Historical Mechinagar Indigenous Cultural Festival 2069 was started from Falgun 2nd and will be running till Falgun 10th in Mechinagar-10, Kakadvitta, Jhapa, Nepal. Indigenous community of Eastern Nepal Rajbanshi Community day to display their heritage, culture and traditional attire, food items, music and their life style was displayed and showed today. The mask displayed in Rajbanshi Stall were very old and according to the mask owner he says "These mask are dated from time unknown and believed to be from stone age (Satya yuga) which was handed over to me from my grandparents and they said they got it from their fore grandparents." They further added "these are the mask of Rabaniya nach "Which is also called krishna khela or Lanka nach- The folk dance shows the Ramayana which is quite different from Valmiki Ramayan because Valmiki Ramayan was from Duapar Yuga but Lanka nach was performed by Rajbanshi people before that period and one character "Trishula Viir" from Lanka nach is not available in Valmiki Ramayan" . So strong research is necessary to be done so that we can trace out the actual date and the genuine evidences about the folk dance Rawaniya or Lanka Nach or Krishna khela.
